Our General English and IELTS exam preparation course is a combination course which runs all year around for students of intermediate level and above. In the morning classes you practise grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading, speaking, pronunciation and writing in a communicative environment using a set course book. Your progress in these classes is measured through weekly, mid-course and end of course tests.
The afternoon sessions will prepare you to take the Academic version of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam. These classes will teach you the techniques and skills required to succeed in the four parts of the exam: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
There will be significant amounts of homework and this course focuses on improving your general English as well as exam preparation. Our experienced teachers will help you get the best score you can.
In the afternoon lessons test strategies and writing styles are covered intensely. KAE is accredited by the British Council for the teaching of English in the UK, so you can be certain of the quality of our courses.
By the end of the course, you should:
- feel far more confident going into your IELTS exam
- understand English more clearly in the Listening section
- speak more fluently in the Speaking section
- improve your vocabulary and ability to write in the Writing section
- know which areas of the exam you need more practice with
Our course is also suitable for students taking the Academic IELTS for UKVI (United Kingdom Visas and Immigration). This test is the same as the Academic IELTS, but it is mainly used for applying for UK visas. For students that are taking the General IELTS English test, we can offer private lessons.
Maximum class size is 12.
Please Note: We are NOT an exam centre for IELTS exams, but can help students to apply for exams. Exam places are subject to availability, see one of the KAE team for help.
